OpenAI has submitted a confidential IPO filing, but the ChatGPT maker says it has not decided on timing or disclosed deal terms.

The company led by Sam Altman confidentially filed IPO paperwork with the SEC, the startup said in a written statement. The filing sets up the company to potentially go public as soon as this fall, though OpenAI —which kick-started the AI boom with the 2022 release of ChatGPT—said it hasn’t yet decided on timing.

Claude-maker Anthropic filed to go public on June 1, while competitor SpaceX will debut on the Nasdaq on June 12.
